Kathmandu : Nepal went down by 2 wickets to lose its second match of the ICC World Cricket League Championship played in Abu Dhabi of United Arab Emirates on Wednesday. Nepal had posted a target of 225 runs at the match played in Abu Dhabi.
Electing to bat first after losing the toss, Nepal made disastrous start losing both openers Anil Mandal and Subash Khakurel at zero run.
But then, Sagar pun (47), Gyanendra Mall (36), Paras Khadka and blitzing performance by Sharad Vesawkar lifted Nepal to a commendable score. Vesawkar made 42 runs off 45 ball smashing one four. PNG chased down a modest 225 run target set by Nepal with 2 balls to spare.
Earlier, Nepal lost to PNG by two wickets in the first match played on Monday.
Although Nepal has already played Four matches, it is still winless in the championship being played by eight teams in round robin format. The top six teams will get chances to play qualifiers for the 2019 ICC World Cup.
